Thanks Duncan! that could be great!
Julio when ever you talk to her make sure how much of the promotion does she cover, usually the gallery pays for part or all the costs of a catalog , poster, postcards, what ever she usually makes... depending on the artist ofcourse.

poster and new web
Thanks ALex!
The new web will advertise the show.
Here is an overview of all the stuff that goes on the New web.
Blogarians Project:
Blog:
Here all the members can post images and text easily.
With Comments.
About:
-A description of what we do and what Blogarians is (this will be editable by the administrator only)
-A Form where people can Join Blogarians (They can join but they will only be accepted if 50% of the members vote "yes" to that new artist in their control panel. (the illustration democracy)
Artist Index:
-Here you will see a profile picture and the name of every member, if you clic on the image it will take you to their image galery.
-The image gallery will contain the profile picture, Bio, Contact info and 4 Images they uploaded.
Events Calendar:
This section can be edited by all the members, is a calendar to post dates of gallery shows or other important dates.
Wiki Planner (only members can see this)
This Wiki can be edited by all the members.
Its only one blank page where we can write different ideas and oganize for gallery shows or events we plan together.
Forum: (only members can see this)
Really simple forum where we can discuss.
Control Panel:
The Administrator can control all the sections, edit, delete...
The members will have access to: Blog, Forum, Illustration democracy (where they see a list of the people that want to be a member), Wiki, Events Calendar. Artist index ( where the can edit their own Bio and contact, profile picture, and their 4 images on the gallery)
The illustration democracy:
This is the feature where new members are voted "yes" or "no".
If 50% or more of the actual members vote "yes" that person will be accepted as a new member and will have the same privileges the rest of us has.
All the layout of the pages and design is done already, someone is programming all the backend, so its all automatic.
It looks really proffesional, clean and could promote us in a better way.

duncan the printing of the flyer sounds really cool. i think it would be great if we had different designs for the show poster. maybe who ever is interested could design one. i know i am.
i already emailed diana about the size of the gallery and the shipping info. so i'll let you guys know as soon as she answers back.
so far my favorite theme are
imaginar freinds
health/sickness
visions of the future.

Awesome stuff so far.
Sorry for not getting in the action sooner. So far I'm liking the ideas and things that have been going on. Did we already do the voting for the theme? I hope not, I want to get in on that. Did you guys already get confirmation on the gallery date? Sorry, I'm trying to catch up. Don't worry I did read what was posted. I would like to help with may a flyer design or whatever.

Idea
Olu we haven't voted for the theme yet. I am currently collecting the names of the people who want to participate in the show. About the Poster I think everyone wants to make one, it is going to be hard to figure out who is puting it together. I believe because Manuel designed Blogarians he should design the poster (just an idea). A good idea is each one of us to send to Manuel the piece that got the most comments on Blogarians or a new favorite piece and he could put them together. Or whoever wants can make a poster and we could vote on them.

glad to have you on the boards nelly!!
hehe.. i already sent diana a list of the names aleko has snet out. i'm still waiting to hear on the other stuff we mentioned aswell. after all that , we'll see what date we can shoot this for.
i think who ever want to make a poster should do one. i think it would be great advertising and it would show what's to be expected.

ok
diana wrote back with the shipping info. we would pay to ship our work over there, but anything unsold she would pay for the shipping back. i've been shipping my stuff to a gallery in FL so it's really no that expensive, but manuel i dont know how much it would be to ship from spain!
she didn't respond to the size of the gallery, so i replied asking her again. so i'll let you guys know as soon as i know.

dates
so diana wrote to me the other day this is what she had to say...
Well let's see. I would love it if we could do it for the next show. That runs Feb 8 - Mar 30, 2008. I know it probably seems like short notice but that's how its been going here with all the excitement. I just get it rolling and we all whip it together in a pretty impressive short time-frame. Maybe it's too dramatic but I'm at a loss right now for the next show because I'm still trying to finish construction in the back.
I don't need everyone to get too overwhelmed with a theme - this is an introduction for sure.
The things you guys need to work on, and this is a master co-ordination feat - Get your pieces presentable and framed. Pack up, ship (insurance). The artist pays for shipping one way and I pay return if it doesn't sell.
Did you see the floor plan and did that make sense? I like those themes. I think whichever we pick, if we pick one at all, would be sort of based on the time of year. Love is a good one for Spring.
How do you all communicate? Is it a forum or emails? I have a way to share docs with gmail that might help if you want that.
Cheers! diana
i'm thinking around summer time would be a good time to have this show. it will give us time to plan this better along with executing our artwork. plus it wont be cold.
what do guys think....
